We had a group crit on tuesday, I was able to present my ideas and was given sufficient feedback.
The concept I proposed to the group:
Making two posters, one for the design of print, and one for the production of print.
The two posters would come in a packet.
The audience is 16 - 20 year olds at college and sixth form studying to move onto a degree in graphic design.
The posters would be used as a college/ school resource and would be handy around the studio.
The posters would start out as an a5 or a6 size and fold out to be around a2. The idea being that print is seen as just a process, but when you look into it it's much bigger than what you think.
Here is the feedback from my peers:
> Screen print your posters, make them duo tone?
> Target audience be more specific? e.g. girls
> How much detail will be on the posters
> Will you use illustration of photography?
> Tone of voice? Humour?
> Consider maybe more than two posters?
> Posters need to be aesthetically engaging to capture audience attention. Balance type and image.
> Will all your content fit onto A2 and will it be legible from a distance
> Consider both elements of the poster - are there over laps?
> People who do not like print - try and engage them?
> Use tone of voice to make the information load easy to understand and take in.
> Refine your audience!
> Where will the posters be placed?
> Look for a demographic for graphic design students?
> An idea you could have is have four posters and when placed together they make one big poster.
