OUGD504: Design for print, Lino printing

I tried lino printing at vernon street to get a better understanding of the process.

The process is fairly easy, and the end print is really neat and clean.

You start by drawing onto your lino with pencil, you use the pencil lines as a guide.



Using different sized chisels cut into the lino, along the pencil lines.





 The different sized chisels will gives you different depths.



I cut out an image of the ink roller.

After cutting your image out you need to spread an even layer of ink onto the lino. You then place it onto the printing press, along with your desired stock. Clamp the press down and release, and let the lino and the print dry.
