We had another illustrator workshop today which again looked at the different tools which are available, allowing you to create a range of shapes, letters etc.
We started by looking at the path finder and how to create letters using shapes and cutting out the shapes using different path forms. We recreated the letter 'G' from last week using this method, here is my attempt.
We then looked at manipulating fonts to make them your own. We did this by creating the font into an image and then using paths to add serifs to the letter. Here are a few of the letters i changed. We used the width tool which allows you to stretch a line into the width which you prefer.
Simon then showed us how to use strokes and the different ends and textures in which you can use on a the pen or brush tool. I experimented with a chalk texture to create this illustration.
Finally we looked at blending colours and blending shapes so they multiplied. Here is an example.
